My hubby and I were thrilled when LA Fitness opened last August. All the other health clubs in our smallish town are about the size of our living room, so we were very excited to have a big, new gym in town. We were so looking forward to it that we joined in April, well before the club even opened.

The first couple of months went fine. But then things started going downhill.

Now, only 11 months after opening this brand new location, the machines and locker rooms are filthy. I used to get sick once a year. Since I've joined this gym, I'm getting sick every 2-3 months, and that's the only thing that's changed in my daily routine so I know it's because of the uncleanliness of the machines. And I take a TON of vitamins every day to help boost my immunity. I talked to someone who works there, and he won't even work out there because it's so dirty. He works at LA Fitness but has a membership for a different gym. I think that says it all!

The AC has been out of order several times. And, yes, we are in the desert, and it is summer, so you can imagine how great that feels. When I complained to the VP about it, he said it was good that it was out of order because that means it's working properly to filter dust out of the air. Gee, I've never heard the saying, "It's broken, so that means it's working!" What a ***.

The hot tub has been broken more times than I can count. The pool's been drained a few times. Free weights are hardly never re-racked in the proper places. There's an assisted pull-up machine that has been out of order for over a month. The dress code isn't enforced-I've even seen people in bare feet on the treadmill. The staff hasn't even gotten around to untying the palm tree fronds out front even though they've had 11 months.

My hubby and I tried complaining to the manager, but it did no good. Nor did it do any good talking to Corporate. Therefore, I will vote with my wallet. While I don't want to join a teeny tiny gym, it's better than continuing to work out at LA Fitness, getting sick and frustrated all the time.

I have also heard that the staff does drugs in the parking lot, and they get promoted when they do bad things. For example, some sales guys set up their canopy outside a competitor's door to try to steal their business. When the manager ran them off, one of them threatened her with "you have no idea what I'm capable of." She went to LA Fitness to tell the manager, and then she found out the guy got promoted the next day.

I'm taking my business elsewhere!

This is obviously a competitor sabotage review. I've been going to LA Fitness, Casa Grande since it opened.

This is a nice gym! Don't believe this nonsense.

Went to tor their gym today to compare to the two other gyms in the area. I was so disappointed!

The manager helped me even though I had called the night before and made an appointment with someone else, who didn't show. Nice first impression. I have been a trainer and sold memberships before. My other first impression was that I wasn't greeted for almost five minutes while standing at the front desk.

I hated that the staff wear slacks and collared shirts and have no interest in your fitness goals. Just selling memberships.

Every gym I've been to in my life had actual trainers and fit people working there, not fat car sales men. Immediately went to their competitor and was offered a free thirty day pass to earn my patronage and free fitness consult and free training every month!

I agree with V. After being a member for a few weeks, I find the place turning into a ghetto.

I go early in the morning to avoid the gang members. The manager and staff are only worried about signing up members, but not keeping them happy.

The locker room smells all the time and the pool looks like a pond. Seniors should avoid this facility for their own safety.Keep away from the trainers, they are clueless.

While the building is aesthetically appealing, the sales people and some of the front desk staff (when present) tend toward abject insolence. The fitness trainers are discourteous and possibly the worst offenders when it comes to re-racking weights, wiping down the machines and staying the *** out of the way.

Additionally, the facility is acquiring a ghetto like mien replete with thugs, bullying and general meandering by unkempt individuals whose business lies outside of physical conditioning. The facility is quickly losing what little atmosphere of healthful invigoration and energy it once possessed, and for pityรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs sake exorcise the distracting and whiney bongo party music.

I just re-joined LA Fitness in Casa Grande. They have hired all new peeps and the place seems to be clean.

As a note; ALWAYS wash your hands after leaving a gym. Keep your hands away from your face.

Bring your own towel. Also, if you note the pool and hot tube are dirty, call the local health inspector AND the Casa Grande mayor.

Hi, my hubby and I are member of LA FItness here in Casa GRande since February 2008. We have membership and also we signed up for 1 year contract to be member of the training program (have trainer to work with us). We are NOT HAPPY at ALL with the services they're given, primarily because for just the first 2 months of training program, the trainer was not there for 2 times already, without informing us, that he/she would not be able to accommodate us on the scheduled training, when we got there, the staff were like, "Oh Oh, where is so and so???) and one of the staff said, "Oh she's not here today, would you like to cancel your appointment and re scheduled it?" What a bummer, we are working couples too you know.

Next, in the beginning of the day we signed up for a training program, they said, they will measure our body fats etc, so they can monitor if the workouts well do us any better. But guess what? It's already approaching to October now and that was February and still they did not do any measurement at all!

Finally, in setting up schedule to work out with a trainer, they always say. "We don't have available schedule except for this one day". So, I did not scheduled for that specific day, because I'm working on that day. The following week, I called again to schedule another appointment because I got a day off, and the staff said, "Oh, we don't have available schedule this week." So, I waited, until it's been almost a month, that I don't have a trainer schedule. It's ridiculous! It seems like we, the customer have to work around the schedule of the trainer, how does it work, we also have works schedule you know. We are they're customers, we are paying for $210/month and we can't even get the service for what we've paid. My hubby and I can't wait for the February 2009 to come, so our 1 year contract will end, and would never ever renew it again...NEVER!!!

you should call the corporate office and complain that the 'club pride' department is not keeping up with the place. also, you should complain about the operations manager.

op. managers are supposed to send in repair orders as soon as he/she is notified that machines are not working properly

I visited the place for the 1st time..as i walked in, it stinks in there...obviously the A/C ain't working..with in sedonds I was sweating as if I was walking on plain desert...the exercise machines were dirty, no aerobics available, no spinning class available, no tour or trainer available unless I SIGN UP the it'll be available I was told!!!!

Instead of a month free trial, the rude guy offered me 2 weeks, I asked for someone to show me around and to tell me what exercises/machines would be good for me to do if I decide to sign up, again I was told that UNLESS I SIGN UP I WAS NOT GETTING ANY HELP/ATTENTION, THAT THOSE SERVICES ARE ONLY AVAILABLE TO PAYING CUSTOMERS!!!

I asked, how am I supposed to know what to do or what machine to use or how to use it without hurting myself? His answer??? Amazing what he told me...." PRETTY MUCH YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN UNTIL YOU SIGN UP" I asked, can at lest give me a hint on what to do? His answer, "NO, THAT'S NOT MY JOB AND I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THAT, I HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF PEOPLE THAT WANT TO SIGN UP NOW" There was no people there, no employees working/helping on the floor..I asked him well, where are your employees? He said: "EVERYTHING YOU WANT IS GONNA BE AVAILABLE ONCE YOU SIGN UP AND NOT BEFORE THEN" I looked around, there were 3 women working out at different machines and about 5 guys just hanging around the machines laughing out loud, not exercising. With tattoos all over not that Im scare or mind but they look very shady and with in 5 mins 2 of the guys left..with in mins later 1 guy came in n went straight to the circle.."shaked hands" and the guy left..never exercising at all...I was there for over an hour trying to figure out the decals attached to the machines so I could exercise..those guys never exercise..didn't even had exercise clothes on but they had so many "friends" showed up and after "shaking hands" they all left...they didn't have much to say to each other tho...ummm...I guess these people are conducting another type of business there, they were never bother by the rude guy at front, of course "he's too busy signing up pp" ... after I was done "exercising" on my own, I spent a few mins talking to the ladies that were there, they told me not to sign up, that they were there because they were stuck with a membership but otherwise they were to move on a.s.a. their membership was up they were moving on...OMG...they didn't have to tell me this, im never coming back to this "gym" ... a shame to nave such a big place with nice equipment but so run down and employees with poor customer skills...very rude!! And very pushy/ it felt as a treat that unless I sign up I wasn't getting no help, and I never did! this place gives a bad name to LA fitness!! :( :cry :( :( :( :cry :p :p :( :x

Location of this filth: florence blvd...by the corral/right before the "mall" ..a plaza place/indoor shopping place like pp in CG call the promenade mall...

Thanks for the update. New flyers came out last week.

I was on my way to check it out.

Money talks, or there lack of, I want the business in CG to be proud of the service they offer the community. I'll spend my money in Chandler then.
