Our switch went out on the furnace, and a tech was dispatched quickly. He stated our switch was out of production and that any switch sowing to us would be wrong; he was correct. HMS was informed today that our home was 27 degrees F. this am and we are expecting a snow/ice storm Monday. Oh well, a new part must be ordered. The tech called them to explain that a new system needs to be put in. ... Read more

On January 14, 2014 at 6:15pm I was drive home from work when my son called to say the house was filled with gas fumes and that we needed to call the gas company. I then called Washington Gas and told him that my house was filled with gas fumes and somebody needed go out and investigate it. They told me they would send someone out right away. They sent someone out within 20 minutes and they... Read more

My furnace was leaking gas so I called the gas company that turned that gas off and left a hazard sticker on it. I called HMS and they sent someone out. I paid them a $100.00 to tell me my furnace needed replacing. They called HMS and told them I had not maintenanced the system and that is why it broke. To make a long story short, HMS said they would not cover the repair or a replacement. I... Read more

This is the WORST company I have ever worked with! I have been trying to get heating and a/c units repaired for almost 2 months now. They sent one company over who did a cursory look of my units because they weren't going to do work (including anything diagnostic above making an observation without touching the units) if there was no guarantee that repairs would be paid for. But they cashed my... Read more

Central A/C went out last summer in Las Vegas - yeah, 110 degrees typically during the day. Having only bought the home 2 years earlier, and having done multiple repairs in the meantime, never thought about the seemingly useless warranty delivered at the time of purchase. Fast forward to this month when I receive a phone call from a "Warranty Specialist" with HMS looking to get me to renew this... Read more

So we bought our house in January of last year, with an older furnace, 1997, and we didn't move in until March. No problems, until, of course, this winter, when we turned on the heat the first time and it cut off in the middle of the night. We call HMS, have 3 different service calls, HMS is calling it a "mechanical failure". Uh, hello...it's a MACHINE! What other kind of failure would there... Read more

Our furnace went out last Thursday. Mind you, I live in Minnesota. Its November. I called HMS, they sent a good company to look at it and discovered that the pilot assembly failed and nearly blew up our house. HMS denied the claim on the grounds that the furnace was "improperly installed" in 1987. I asked " if it was improperly installed in 1987, how come it took 27 years to fail?" My claim then... I called this company for help 2 times. The first time it as an issue with refrigrator. this was denied after service tech charged 100 (replacement part is only $53.) .The second issue with Plumbing was again rejected since it is "pre-existing". This company is a joke and a FRAUD. Keep away !!! they are jsut ensuring that we spend the money on the Technicians and then turn around and refuse our... Read more

Replacing my 44-year old boiler will cost a minimum of $4000. HMS is offering $2200 because they say they can get a boiler at cost. Unfortunately, the boiler they can get won't fit in my boiler space. To make it fit will cost a few extra thousand dollars. They are not willing to pay for installation of their boiler. I am going to get legal advice before this claim is closed. I have seen HMS... Read more
