Ever since I entered the sweepstakes this year I've gotten all kinds of spam email as well as scam mails about all the money I've won or inherited if I just give these strangers all my information. I look at the email headers and most are from South America or Ukraine. I hadn't entered this sweepstakes in years and decided to do it again this year. The same thing happened last time. This is... If you love the HGTV shows strictly for the entertainment value, that’s fine. I just have a MAJOR problem with them running these contests. By definition a contest is something that everybody should/would have an EQUAL chance of winning. This is not the case with HGTV. HGTV pre-selects their winner(s) based upon income, zip codes and background checks. That immediately eliminates 95% of the... Read more

Its really not that hard to see that HGTV is not running a legitimate contest here! The winner of the Dream Home is always already well off, Certainly does not need the home, and is hand picked by the network! If your going to run a contest, then make it RANDOM and give all participants an EQUAL chance of winning and stop avoiding certain income levels and zip codes! Even the rules state that... Read more

I believe I really won the hgtv home in Jacksonville,fl. I entered twice every day AND hand wrote a thousand entries. I find it odd that the last two winners were retired people with secure pensions. They would be able to travel when needed for promotions and they were both RETIRED!!!!!!!! I can't believe th odds of not winning with as many times as I entered!!!! This contest has caudes me pain... Read more

HGTV contests are rigged. Every winner is ready and waiting for the door bell to ring and then come tho the door (of their already beautiful home and obvious wealthy position in life). They never go to area codes that don't match their desire of aesthetics. The people that answer the door and their family and company are actors. Scam is hardly the word. Staged it the word, paid actors... Read more

I have entered several contest but with this last entry , I believe my information has been sold. I have received several phone calls through out the day from varies vendors. I have even been a target of two scams: First, I received a call telling me my government wanted to give me tax free 10,000 dollars and they needed my credit card or checking number to receive the money and second: I... Entered contest sponsored by Quicken Loans by entering key word by watching the show Love It or List It. Once I submitted my information on line I received a call saying I had qualified for the second phase of the contest . They transferred,me to a specialist from Texas who only wanted information to refinance my mortgage. When I asked about the contest they said they would let me know at a later... Read more

I filled out a form to enter one of their sweepstakes. After I put in all of my information, I hit enter, then I got a notice saying that I signed up for their magazine subscription at $18.00. and they would send me a bill. I have no intention of paying this bill and will turn them in to Consumers Protection Agency. At no time did they say I was signing up for a Magazine Subscription. I would... Read more

I have watched HGTV for along time now and I have entered some suppost to be contest. I now believe they are fixed. The dream home giveaway states tt not only can you enter online, but you can enter by sending physical mail. There is no way that someone is going to enter all those paper entries into a computer system somewhere. They are only giving away one home. So do they pick someone... Read more

I used to get advertisements sent to my email automatically when a new sweetstake would begin. I don't now. Also, I used to be able to just enter my email address & all of my other information would pop up & that doesn't work anymore, even after I check the remember me box. Frustrating! It would be nice if you had customer service via telephone, instead of this manner of... Read more
