Okay, we know this company won't cover much if anything when you're making a claim but here's what's really frustrating --They make it as inconvenient as possible for you to CANCEL your policy.

I've been through this before with another company.

F.A. won't let you do it online, you can't do it by phone. They set it up so you have to do it by email or fax. And guess what?

Miraculously, they won't receive your email or fax. What a surprise. Oh, and they'll keep charging your credit card and when you ask them to remove your credit card guess what? They can't.

It's impossible. It's almost the exact methodology I went through cancelling my XM radio. Just a totally unethical process to squeeze as much money out of you as they can before you eventually are off their system.

The lead in renewals -Mike Sosa- told me to just call my financial institution to block their charges because there's nothing he can do about it. Nice huh?

Monetary Loss: $324.

Location: San Diego, California

Got my coverage booklet. Geezer they have no problem telling you what they don't cover what the heck DO they cover?

Apparently not much..of course they don't tell you that when they entice you to sign up. Now I'm stuck waiting until tomorrow to contact my bank.

Just plain crooked. Future customers beware.

OMG you can not cancel with these people idiots

A lot of these places are like that your best thing to do is cancel the card & get a new one tell your card company (bank) you lost it they will issue you a new one with new # I had to do that with a place That was taking monthly drafts from my account I ask to cancel but they kept taking money out.

This is such a scam! In addition to stopping payment on their services, I recommend going to FTC.gov and reporting them. Let the government rip them a new one.

Enjoy

First American contractors are sometimes these young Russian guys. I know this guy that's a plumber and he worked for one of the plumbing contractors for First American for a couple months.

What these contracting "companies" do is not pay --or withhold much of it-- these Russian guys and just threaten to fire them as there isn't much they can do about it. If they're not working, they'll have to go back home and without any money from the job they've been doing, they don't have the money to get back. First American can just claim innocence as it's not their plumbing, electrical, etc. repair company.

It's just a terrible situation that they create. If I could put a curse on their upper management I would.

unprofessional, rude, no morals, late to appointment overall.

Guest

yes, they have no morals, no ethics, they plain just dont give a ***

Here is Email to send cancellation request cancellationsupport@***.com

Guest

That is exactly that I just did, blocked the charges and dispute all the money charged since the cancellation. TERRIBLE!!!! company to do business with, the contractors hired by First American Home Buyers are very unreliable people.

Guest

All I can say is run from this company and don't look back.

I emailed twice to CancellationSupport@***.com to cancel my policy but no respond and it's been over two weeks. Just contacted my credit card to have them block First American. Never in my life has it been this hard to cancel.

KT: Yeah, that's the problem --they inserted those loose terms into their policies so they can wriggle out of anything they're supposed to be covering. Then when people cancel their policy --or try to-- they make it as inconvenient as they can to do so so that they can charge your credit card one last time.

Just don't send the cancellation via email to CANCELLATIONSUPPORT@***.COM like they say to. It's really CANCELLATIONSUPPORT@***.COM.

They tell people that so that they can just say "You sent the email to the wrong address.". They're criminals.

1. 4 "techs" came to my home on 5 separate occasions to fix the jacuzzi-tub. On the 5th visit, the tech said "there is nouthing we can do. This repair is not covered."

2. Basement sump-pump overflowed and needed repair. 2 plumbers looked at it and reported the problem to FA. The plumbers later informed me that "This particular type of sump-pump is not covered."

Most of the employees sent to my home seemed sub-standared; like they would not be hired by a quality company. I could have saved a heap of time and money by just hiring my usual services.

Stay away from FA; Stay away stay away

The same thing happened to me! They give that fake cancellation email address over the phone and they charge an extra month and blame you for sending the cancellation to the wrong address and won't refund that money.

Sheesh. This is the final word from First American. Again, they purposely give out completely false email addresses to cancel your policy. What scoundrels. Here's the flunky's (Nahun Espino) BBB response:

Company's Final Response

Company's Final Response - Posted 09/21/2011

Consumer has provided the email he sent on November 2010. However, Consumer emailed the wrong adress. Consumer also provided two separate emails showing that his attempts to email his cancellation request were returned. This was due to Consumer not emailing the correct address. The correct address is: CancellationSupport@***.com. It is Consumer's responsibility to ensure that he provides his cancellation request appropriately. Being that his emails were not going through, Consumer could have contacted our Company for assistance. First American shall cancel Consumer's contract effective September 13, 2011, which is the date of his complaint to the Better Business Bureau and the first time our Company received a request for cancellation. First American considers this matter closed.

A fail safe built in excuse for this ***'s scam.

Okay, I've found my email that I sent out last year to cancel. I've forwarded it to this guy that's supposed to take care of it:

nespino@***.com

888-955-**** x: 3604

He's the one that responded after he got a letter from the BBB. We'll see if he does anything or is allowed to. The company's policy as we all know, as evidence of you reading this, is to steal our money so I'll update what happens.

Here's the latest. The cancellation email address that they gave me --no less than 3 times and never seems to work still isn't.

I sent two cancellations and I just got the automatic Mail Delivery notice: This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.A message that you sent has not yet been delivered to one or more of itsrecipients after more than 120 hours on the queue on mho-02-ewr.mailhop.org.The message identifier is: 1R3W6x-00058r-MHThe subject of the message is: cancel policy 101********The date of the message is: Tue, 13 Sep 2011 09:45:24 -0700The address to which the message has not yet been delivered is: cancellationsupport@***.comNo action is required on your part.

Delivery attempts will continue forsome time, and this warning may be repeated at intervals if the messageremains undelivered. Eventually the mail delivery software will give up,and when that happens, the message will be returned to you.

I am experiencing the sae thing. They specifically told me when I purchased the warranty a year and a half ago that all AC problems were covered.

Now my coil has gone out and they say they don't ke one that will fit anymore. Now they have to "modify" my air handler and none of those costs are covered. If they send me a cash-out, they will cover less than $500. All of the AC companies I have called say that a coil is $1800-****, but all of the "extras" are part of the cost.

UGH!!!!!!! My next phone call is the BBB and my attorney!!!!
