EffortlessE failed to respond to numerous phone messages & email related to service interruption & billing issues and refuse to give me MY data.

I have been an effortlessE customer for several years on an automatic payment plan. On Christmas Eve 2013 - the single most important retail sales day of the year - their system went down. They did not return the many urgent phone messages I left that day or EVER. The system failure cost me business and required hours of time to adjust my inventory numbers and sales reports after the fact. Two months later they triple billed my bank account with no explanation for charges. My messages again went unanswered. I finally contacted my bank to stop payment and effortlessE canceled my account. I had not backed up my data and would like to receive csv files of my inventory and sales reports, which they can easily provide. I finally reached Roger at effortlessE and he said they would not provide these files unless I reinstate my account. I have no intention of doing this. I am contacting an attorney to see what my options are. This is quite possibly the WORST company I've ever had to deal with. I'm not surprised that they have an "F" rating with BBB.

Worst Point of Sale Software Ever!

So far choosing Effortlesse as my point of sale solution has been my biggest regret as a business owner.  the knowledgebase is grossly incomplete, the support staff gives the impression that they would rather be doing anything else besides helping customers.  The fact that I cannot reach anyone by phone even in an emergency is ridiculous and the product itself is horribly buggy and incomplete.  In my latest run-in with the support staff, I was having problems with the credit card swiper not passing data to the gateway correctly. After four weeks of research on my own, I finally found a solution with absolutely no help whatsoever from them. If you are in a retail business, choose any other point of sale solution except Effortlesse. My mistake will soon be rectified.

Effortlesse charged me 48.99 after cancellation within 30 days

I signed up for a trial of services for their point of sale website. I did login a few times to see if it would work. I signed up for service on April 16th in evening. I was emailed early morning on the 17th with login info and account creation. I found the software to be incompatible with my needs and never returned until I received an email about monthly fee to be charged. I quickly emailed and cancelled account on 16th of May, the last day of my trial. I received confirmation account had been cancelled. Next day I saw a charge of 49.95 on my credit card from them. I emailed the mistake and asked for a refund. I was told I did not cancel in time and there would be no refund. I told them I was within my 30 days as account access had not been granted until 17th. They refused and insisted that I went beyond my trial. I again asked for refund and send email dated 17th that they sent me with access information. There only reply was that it was a valid charge. I then told them I would contact my bank and BBB. Please help stop this type of blatant stealing from the public. This is the reason people are afraid to enter credit information online.

Avoid Effortlesse at all costs

I signed up for a trial version of this companies software on 8/20 as it was the only way to see how it worked. I looked at it for 1 day and then forgot about it.

On 9/20 they billed my card for almost $400. I asked for a refund and they refused, even though I never used it, they never reminded me that my trial was about to end and that I would be charged, and I contacted them as soon as I received their ridiculous bill. It appears that they force you to sign up for a trial so that they can prey on customers who forget to cancel and then charge them an exorbitant "setup" fee of $350.

What did they do to "setup" my trial?

Also their product is terrible, use imonggo or cashierlive instead. Its a better product and they have better business practices.

This EffortlessE company completely pulled the plug on Jan 17,2022 leaving us without any POS capabilities and losing over 15 yrs worth of 6 figure inventory and data. Both their POS system and website disappeared, phone and fax numbers disconnected.

I cannot understand the complete disregard and lack of ethics those people had to do that to longtime accounts without any warning whatsoever. I'm sure we are not the only ones they totally screwed and I hope all the individuals involved in this company are somehow, somewhere, brought to justice.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT sign on with EffortlessE under ANY circumstances. I will not go into details, but I will warn you now, and this is your final warning.
