26 years I was loyal to Dell, I am typing this on an 11 month old dual screen OptiPlex. I am a CPA who specializes in taxes. Two months ago the right screen started shutting down out of no where, this past week I have been forced to work with one screen 60% of my work day. Well I never thought it would be me. Im a brand loyalty person, like American cars, but buy Sony tvs, and up to last year always bought Dells. We bought a Dell computer in late Dec., directly from them. Was not able to schedule an installer to come move two hard drives to the new one till late January. 2/28/14 This afternoon I finally got a person to ( I hope) cancel an order and placed a new order for a 750 mb hard drive to replace the one that died. I asked the guy for a customer satisfaction survey, didn't get it, and I didn't get an invoice. Tonight I spent nearly 3 hours on the phone, disconnected twice, before I got through. Called Dell for a tv...was on the phone for 4 days, sales would tell me that I had to talk to Financial...when I finally got throught to financial, they would say...Im sorry sir, you have to speak to sales, sales would come on and say sorry sir you have to speak to financial...on with financial again and sorry sir you have to speak to sales...they tried to charge me $1000 extra for a tv and told... My hard drive was defective so Dell replaced it under warranty. Dell wanted me to return the old hard drive with all of my personal and financial info on it and I refused to compromise my identity. To get the hard drive erased it would cost $50 from a third party and they wound up charging me $49 to keep and destroy THEIR defective part. The computer is less than 6 months old. Dell makes a... I have a Dell desktop which is 2 months old, with warranty & my computer got infected with a virus (popups / spyware) and when I called Dell tech support, I was asked to pay $129 for virus removal !!! dell computers have messed up my pc and fobbing me off leaving me on hold on a 0844 number for hours. they told me to update my bios and i did and it has messed up my pc and left me with no operating system, just a blank hard drive. i cannot use my original factory restore disc or anything as they have changed the bios and the new bios cannot read any of my previous operating system or any discs... I used to love Dell. As an IT professional and social media expert, I would recommend Dell to family, friends, and followers. I can no longer do so in good conscience due to their terrible customer service. I recommended Dell to my mother in law how babied the laptop and never took it out of the house.
