I returned home from work two nights ago to discover that my TV Cable Box was not working. I contacted Cox Technical Support and was informed that my box was not working and needed to be replaced. They told me that my internet service will be $19.99 a month and there will no be installation fee. So I agreed to sign up for their service. However, when I get the bill, they charged me $20.00 for installation and $30.00 a month for my internet service. Cox spent 2 months advertising in my area that internet speeds will be increasing and their customer's bills won't be affected. The next month my rates went up substantially. I cancelled their service and moved to ATT so Cox immediately deleted my account information so I can't make a final payment unless I call and pay $10 for an operator-assisted payment. Every time is see a COX Contour commercial I want to turn off my television. It's such a joke that they call this a device that you can customize your DVR. If I want to watch a show I recorded I have to be in whatever room I recorded it in. I naturally don't want to worry about that so, I had to set up every single TV with the same series set to record. I am loyal Cox customer! Prices are equal if not better than most other companies. I recently had a tech issue (my fault) and called in and got help from a young man named Jonathan. He was so professional and helpful. He not only helped me with my problem but found a few other small issues I didn't know I had and fixed those too! Kudos to Cox! Keep up the great work! Cox Communitcations. Bad bad bad business……. They have f'ed me over again. They say the rate will be 19.99 a mo for a year then double it after 6 months. Then it is scheduled to double again in August. Three hour plus (3+) wait on customer service line! Trying to contact Customer Service since 7 AM and keep getting recording over and over again. Looks like Cox does not have enough people to handle the volume of calls. The problem is simple needing some one at Cox to turn-on a switch but cannot get any person to talk. I got my account with Cox less than a year ago for $110 bundle. today (about 8 months later) my monthly bill is $235!!! I didnt make any changes or added anything to the service. So not only did Cox Cable repeatedly overcharge me for services and screw up billing while I had both TV and Internet, causing me to spend dozens of hours on the phone fixing their mistakes. Four years ago, I opened a Cox account for the $30/$30/$30 deal, with a DVR. The total bill was $110 a month. That was feasible for a newly divorced mom of two.
