I had almost the exact same experience as hundreds of others have with this unbelievably predatory bunch of frauds. Hard sell, lowering the cost, offering "two free airline tickets to anywhere in the U.S."--the latter of which caused me to say yes. Told them not to charge me for the $199 registry. After agreeing, I had the chance to go online, discovered that Covington's is a bunch of lies,... Read more

I received a phone call from "Cameil" at Covington wanting to list me in who's who. I told the young lady that I was retired and no longer wanted to advertise. She would not take no for an answer. She kept offering me a cheaper listing, and I told her firmly that I did not need it...I hung up. She called right back and offered me a listing for $29...I finally consented to get rid of her. After... Read more

I received a phone call from a ANN SILAR, from New York. She told me,her supervisor wanted my story as a feature piece, and that they wanted me to do a full page feature piece. For, of coarse, $ 299.00 .. Which helps them to pay for Press releases and magazine distribution.Even offered to give me 2 free airline tickets as well.. Even told me to send 5 pictures of what I am doing now. I waited to... Read more

I get calls from different representives. They always start out to say, "we've picked you to feature on our web site" and we are going to send you to Cancun, Mexico for free. Then at the very end of the call they tell you, we just need for your you to pay 500 dollars to do this. What BS. If I went on vacation myself I could certainly pay less. The reason I say this is because they add... Read more

I received a phone call from an agent of Covington Who's Who. This guy stroked my ego with everything that I said. Bottom line, they want you to pay $700 or more to subscribe to he magazine. When you decline, they keep coming down on the price and continue to offer airline tickets. Then within a day or two, I started receiving a flood of telemarketing phone calls saying that my... Covington Who's Who sounds just like Biltmore, Cambridge, and any other Who's Who that's been advertising lately. They send you a letter or email (mine was a snail-mail letter) that claims you have been nominated for their "society" as if it is some privilege. Just like the others, it asks you to send in your information for free. Later, you will receive a telephone interview to... Read more
