Stay away! This company is a scam!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This company is the most unprofessional organization I have ever interacted with. They keep sending me documents to sign that are different from the agreed upon rates. Their loan officers have zero professionalism. The guy I’m working keeps lying to me. This is borderline mortgage fraud and predatory lending. They have completely violated my trust and I am looking into reporting them to the FBI. I would not recommend doing business with them.

This is a VERY useful review. It would be even more useful if we knew who exactly it is that you’re referring to.

Please comment on who specifically at which branch that you are referring to.

Cherry Creek Mortgage employs hundreds of LO’s from a ton of separate branches spread out across multiple states. Thanks!

HORRIBLE!!!

I would never recommend this mortgage company to anyone, not even my worst enemy. First they don't tell you that they sell your information to third parties so they sell your loan.

Secondly they took our Mortgage payment out twice and when I called to inform them the lady was real nice nasty and had an attitude. She figured that she could not have possibly made a mistake and said to call my bank because they obviously sent the money twice.

So me being me I kindly got in my car and went to Cherry Creek Mortgage Headquarters with all my print out statements from my bank and showed them and then It was a different tune of maybe the system had a glitch. This POS mortgage company should not exist.

Terrible!

This is all my opinion based on my experience. We used Tenby Dahman of Cherry Creek Mortgage Azar mortgage broker for a home purchase. Not only was she not helpful, but she and her team took an excessive amount of time and ended up making our loan go over the deadline. Bean curd in excess of $1,000 of fees because of her. When we approached her about paying this her attitude was dismissive and disrespectful she did nothing to resolve this situation in my opinion this is a terrible company and I would never use them again.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
First came the endless requests for oddly detailed information during loan processing. Even representatives from our bank as well as other places we have accounts were shocked at what Cherry Creek in Colorado Springs was asking for. Once we finally got though this ***, we closed on May 5th. To our shock, our first mortgage payment was due on Jun 1st. That's NOT EVEN 30 DAYS FROM CLOSING!!! This was not only a shocker but highly unusual. The first mortgage payment should be due at least 30 days from the end of the month in which you close. Look it up! Maybe Richard List can't do simple math but by my calculations, my first payment should have been due on July 1st. When we asked about moving the date out to July 1st, they literally said "Too little too late" STAY AWAY FROM CHERRY CREEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Richard List failed to read my credit report pulled 6 months ago, when he wrote my prequal letter. Due to his negligence/oversight of an erroneous negative mark, we almost lost our home. What he couldnt do in over 6 months, another broker accomplished in less than 30 days!

We picked Linda at the above office as her bio was super. The paperwork she wanted was unreal. Admittedly, we were applying to Riverside county for a silent loan in conjunction with ours, but after 7 weeks of not getting phone calls returned, not getting emails answered, listening to excuses when her assistant rarely called us, we gave up. We felt we were in limbo for the 7 weeks. We went to another lender where we were pre qualified in two days, and submitted an offer on a house the following day. She even accused me of being dishonest. That was the end! It is a very stressful time for house buyers trying to obtain a mortgage. This experience was the worst!

Cherry Creek Mortgage Loan Officer Review from Collinsville, Illinois

Updated by user May 28, 2016

This is in Denver Colorado, not Illinois, not sure how it located me in Illinois but just want to make sure people in Denver stay away from these incompetent idiots.

Original review May 28, 2016
My mortgage was transferred to Cherry Creek Mortgage in March of 2016, the previous servicer was PHH. I made my first payment to Cherry Creek in April but they had no record that the loan had been transferred to them so they forwarded the payment to PHH but realized shortly after that thry had indeed purchased my loan so requested that PHH return the April payment. In the meantime I sold my home and Cherry Creek accepted payoff for my loan but I continue to receive statements and phone calls from PHH, I call Cherry Creek several times and speak with Jeanine in servicing who says she will take care of, I ask what happened to the April payment because it obviously did not get credited to my account, she says she will return it to me once she gets it from PHH. I waited for 2 wks but did not hear anything so I call her back and she tells me that she received the check but has an email out to PHH??? To verify that she is indeed supposed to return the payment to me, what an ***, right?! So finally she says she sent me the check, I receive a check for 570 less than what it was supposed to be so of course I call this *** back and she tells me the balance was sent back to PHH for some fees that weren't paid off?? So im furious by now so I call back and ask for her mgr, who says he will cut me a check for the balance due and get my account closed out with PHH so that I won't be getting calls or statements anymore. He calls me back on and tells me that the PHH was paid on May 25th, wtf? How did you not pay them in March when you purchased my loan or maybe in April when you accepted payoff for my loan???? How are these incompetent people still in freakin business???

Cherry creek mortgage in denver,co

I am a seller and they are the worst they bid 30 thousand over the asking price just so they could beat out all the rest and when it came to the were her for the inspection, they hit me with this that high dollar the roof needed to be replaced and we were going to give money back for the cost and they went for the wiring. An inspection was done 1 year ago they checked the wiring and it passed. These poor buyers aren't going to get the house because now we can reject the contract just because of the inspection.

This is absolutely the worst company ever. I went through 5 different all of which asked for different things. They pushed my closing back 3 times with out telling me. Which in turn left me without a home for almost a week. They are awful and I will NEVER recommend them to even someone I hate. Choose a different company and save yourself the trouble.

I totally agree. The worst run organization I have ever seen.

I will be going to the BBB & I urge you to do the same. Jerked my self and my wife around for a month. We have both

800 + credit scores. Incomes of over 300K a year and no bills.

Money in 6 accounts, 401K'S,

etc, etc Looking for a simple 200K loan, and putting down 115 K. They could not do it.

They should be out of business !

Ad nauseum data request..

I have had many mortgages during my 66 years, having owned maybe 10 different houses..the underwriters that process for cheery creek are by far the most anal. Reams upon endless reams of data request..over and over...it never ends...and this for someone with a fat wallet and a credit score in the 800's. They make you feel like a common criminal. Next time I go back to quicken loans....did not have half of the bs! I know there was a meltdown in the mortgage industry due to lax processes, but this outfit is 2x the data requirement of any other firm I have used in the last 5 years.

Very Bad Experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We purchased our house in cash and was looking to get a cash out loan. was told that they could work with me.. sent in all our paperwork and spoke to our loan officer..after a month got back a hold of him and he just told us these things take time.. Called a few other times and left e-mails trying to get updates and no answer. So I went to complain to someone higher up just wanting to get some sort of update.. this was 2 and a half months into the loan process. they seemed nice but finally the loan officer we were working with called and said that we could not get a loan until we have been living in our home for a year..I was like Oh my Word!!! Seriously, takes almost 3 months for you to tell me that.. I could have gone somewhere else during that time.. I am still very irate because we really wanted to finish getting our siding up and other improvements done before winter.. I got estimates and everything to ensure I got best possible deals while waiting for them during this time..Now I don't even know what to do..I am hurting bad now over this experience.

Cherry Creek Mortgage in Citrus Heights is TERRIBLE!

The loan officer: GET THIS NAME--CHRIS CARTER in the Citrus Heights office- Don't work with him!!! I've been trying to buy a short sale for a year now. He's disorganized, gives me the wrong information and direction as to what documentation they want, arrogant about blaming everyone else instead of taking responsibility for his own mistakes. And he had the nerve to YELL at my HR people at my office because he screwed up his directions for filling out the VOE and blamed them for not giving him what he needed. Terrible experience, WOULD NEVER WORK WITH THEM AGAIN! Because of their screw ups, I'm going to lose the house because he dropped the ball on submitting it to underwriting before the deadline. SO mad I can't see straight!!!

I dealt with one of loan officers years ago at another company. We had no issues at all. We thought we would use the same person. This was a huge mistake!!! We were told one thing and got to a day before close and told about last minute costs that brought our closing from under $5000 to $9000. We were devastated!!! The cost were explained as unexpected title fees. Our close date was pushed multiple times and told it was always someone else fault but i would follow up so i knew they were the hold up. They knew of our situation and still did not care. Extra days in hotels - they blew off any complaints. I will no longer recommend them to anyone.

Obtaining a mortgage

I did end up getting the VP in corporate involved. After a long conversation, sharing my experience and perspective, she was very compassionate and made an extra effort to make me feel included, sympathized with and informed. My hope is they will take a look at their internal processes and mortgage loan officer customer service and strategize steps for improvement. It's very important that the loan coordinators and mortgage officers keep the buyers up to date on the progress of their loan, and be proactive in the communication. When a deadline passes and a buyer has not heard from their officer, both the real estate agent and buyer are left out in the cold without knowing what's going on. My hope is some good will come out of my experience and make the process better for everyone involved.

Cherry Creek Mortgage - House Loan Review

We have been working with this company out of Mequon WI for months! We did everything we were asked to do. Each time being told this will be it and that we would get financed for a house. Each time something new would could up. A day or two before we were supposed to have a loan for our agreement. We would do the almost impossible just to have the reason switched to something else out of our control. The person we dealt with through this company would not respond back to my husband at all the last month! A total waste of time, money and effort dealing with this company. I could go on and on about the terrible experience I had with this company but I am done wasting my time. I will never deal with this company again after this experience. I will not recommend and I will strongly suggest no one else deals with this company.

Wrong Information Every Step of the way

We went with this company to refinance, and provided our documents to them within 2-3 days! We were asked to take a loan to pay off a second mortgage, we did, thinking this was a sure fire refinance. Waited a month, without any response-- we were told we'd close the end of September, that came and went. They told us we could close by the 10th of October and with this deal, we'd have to cancel our auto pay on our mortgage to not pay them twice. We did this, thinking we were doing what we needed to, to get this done....Yesterday we find out, the loan THEY told us to take to pay off that second mortgage is stopping us from refinancing now. The only way to process this is to pay off that loan, they told us to get. We have a plan if they can get their act together and stories straight, called them today, they tell us they can't help us....to go elsewhere. Now I'm paying my mortgage late, AND have a loan that we can't afford. Not only that but we're now having our credit pulled three times in one month. All they did for us is make another payment, an unnecessary loan and wasted month and no refinance. DON'T EVER USE CHERRY CREEK MORTGAGE
