NEVER Ever try to negotiate a contract with Cartus. They are extremely slow and non responsive. We have been working with them for over 2 months and have gotten basically nowhere with our contract. They have made several promises only to blind side us with another stipulation causing us, our realtor, lender and attorney unbelievable stress. In my opinion they are very unprofessional and... We put an offer on a house in october end. Received response 2 weeks later. ( this shows how slow they are!). Negotiation took another 2 weeks. After price was set, we signed contract with Mr. ABC ( not writing seller's name for privacy purposes). We got a disclosure too. 1 week later we were told the house is sold by Cartus. Why weren't we told about this before???? Cartus kept sending dozens... Read more

It's been 6 months since our Cartus experience. It's taken this long to calm myself down enough to write this. Do NOT sell your house with Cartus! This service was offered to us to make it easy to relocate, they'd take care of everything, no worries (first I'd like to say that the contact people seemed to care, it is the business model that sucked). Cartus will take over the negotiations and... Read more

Run screaming away! I always had good luck with corporate relocation thru Cartus, so during my last move, I thought it was a no brainer to stick with them for my mortgage. Well, turns out Cartus has NO mortgage company, the name is just a shell company for PHH Mortgage. So you'll close under Cartus, but not know its being sold to PHH until you're at the closing table signing the papers. Then... Read more

Found out the house we liked was a "relo" house. Looked online and found some terrible reviews about Cartus, but we went ahead and put in an offer anyway. We settled on a price, but it took forever to get a contract back from them. We never found out what the issue was, but it set back everything -- financing, inspections, etc. We eventually got a contract, and had an inspection done. We... Read more

When we first placed a bid on the house we were looking to purchase, I was informed that this would be a Cartus transaction. I had no idea who Cartus was so I started looking up info about the company myself. I found and ignored the negative comments on sites like this but I continued with the transaction. It all started with having to complete a substantial amount of paperwork twice which they... Read more

I had been meaning to refinance my home for quite some time. In the beginning of November, 2012, I finally made the call to my current mortgage company, Cartus. (They bought my original loan. I did not choose to originally do business with them.) On my initial phone call, I was told I qualified for a special program with no appraisals, etc, and that I would be "done" by the end of the November.... Read more

purchased a home from Cartus Corporation on May 23rd, 2012. After living in the home for several weeks, I uncovered over $50,000 worth of emergency repairs needed to make the home a safe living environment. The previous homeowners intentionally covered up the true condition of the home to avoid the financial responsibility for the repairs and falsified the property disclosure included in the... The process starts out easy enough. Within a relatively short time, multiple requests, at least 10 or more, are made for additional documents. It's always a guess whether or not they received your information, because no one returns phone calls or emails. This may go on for at least a week. No one communicates in this company, and customer's conversations with the processor are never... Read more

Hi. I wish i read your comment before selecting Cartus. It has been over three months and closing got pushed back three times. We have lost so much money renting and have given the company eveything requested. It has been such an invasive procedure and am so upset with the process. Last delay happened the night before closing. Others have started the process with other companies after us and... Read more
