I ordered a reference service from http://www.CareerExcuse.com. They only gave me a cheap looking web page and they don't even answer the phones to GIVE the service I payed for. They are a scam and complete rip-off. The service was last in being put together and was fill up with mistakes.

When the prospective employers called, Career excuse answered the phone with "Career Excuse, how can I help you." They were supposed to answer the phone in the name of the fake company they put together. Avoid this scam!

I found "The Reference Store" and they blew Career Excuse away. Much more service at a lower price. They built me a fake company that looked REAL! They got me back to work making $66,000 driving over the road. Use them instead. http://www.TheReferenceStore.com

Let me start by saying THIS IS THE OWNER OF THE ONCE REFERENCE STORE! How can you go around downgrading a company that helps people when we have many times over had to help members you left for dead?? Nothing else to say

"And was fill with mistakes"......hmmmm.....I am so sorry you feel ripped off because they did not lie well enough for you. As a business owner with a real degree I feel ripped off by a FORMER employee and people like you that are liars--- my son who works for a federal agency is giving me a late mothers day present and researching you and others that mouthes off on your site notifying your employers!

See, my son actually went to college and has a REAL earned federal FBI references. He can find out who you are and that makes me feel like I am helping a small amount with this scam. Your indignation about being mistreated because somebody fell short with YOUR scam is laughable.

Tell the truth and you never have to look over your shoulder. Hard work and truth is honorable and valuable.

You are judging people unfairly. You have no idea that situations people can get into so unpredictable.

Some of us have big gaps between the jobs due to caring of children or parents or maybe even health issues. Guess what? No one company wants you after that despite your degree or education. The system in USA is built in a way that normal people can not get their first job without connection.

Most of the time it is about whom you know than what you know. Your son was lucky, but you never know may be he will have some big gap between his jobs some time in the future...:)

The reason for services like this is because the system is biased. Employers have all the power to degrade your good name, whether true or false.

Businesses will automatically take the employers side, even though the former boss may be a biased psychopath. People need some way to counteract the lies employers tell against, honest, hard working employees, whose only mistake was choosing that particular business and boss as an employer.

So actually, services like this serves a purpose to keep some workers reputation in tact as some employers try to negatively effect the work life of hard-working, dedicated employees, whose only crime was working for that crazy company! It's not all black and white.

i feel that your son using his FBI knowledge is misusing his power to help you gain revenge on the liars of the world...

Ok, truck drivers get hired on their driving history, not references. You have a clean record and you are pretty much a shoe in.

These jobs are a dime a dozen, especially over the road ones. Why a truck driver would need this service is beyond me.

Well, you may one day come to terms that you need our services. I hope that you will not.

However, if so what else would you do if you have never done anything wrong, and can still not receive a positive reference due to the fact that your past employer will not provide you with one or the one they provide is not truthful. You are very sheltered if you think that corporate America is in any way fair....

As a person who has commented on this before, I still am not gainfully employed and not even thinking about using a service such as this. For all of you who are complaining about the service they got, too bad, you tried to cheat the system and the service cheated you.

How the *** is it "cheating the system" to try to stay alive, fed, clothed and housed in this economy when NO ONE and NO PLACE will hire you with NO references?! What the *** is wrong with you people?!

Why the *** do you wish homelessness, starvation and death on anyone who can't get "real" references to answer their *** phones just because it's been too long since you were wherever you met them...?! I wish there were some way to make it so that people who say these kinds of things could be the ones to lay down and die from starvation on the streets instead of those of us with decent educations but no "references."

Well we are here if you come to terms that most very one lies on their resume. Research the % you will be amazed! I wish the world we live in was a fair place but its just not, not anymore.

First of all I too have been out of work for a very long time. However, I would never even think of using a service that helps you write - up a fake job resume and career.

Yes, finding a job these days is hard. However, let's assume that any of you got a job after using this service? You would get a job, yes, but eventually the company will find out one way or another that you lied to them. You all got what you deserved!!!

It's better to be truthful about yourself rather than tell a fib. Oh, what would happen if any of the skills needed for the job that you applied for and were hired for did not match what you have done in the past?

I would have to guess that careerexcuses.com can help you with that one too?

Let's see, tell the truth and wind up living in a cardboard box on the streets because no one will hire you because you have NO references who will actually bother to answer their phones on your behalf....which equals starvation and death.

I hope you like starvation and death. Me, I'd rather put that off as long as possible.

So if you had a family that depended on you, children that need fed. With the one thing between you and the job you need to stop this, is our service??

Well I would hope that as much as corporate does not care about you you would not care about how you got to where you needed to be. To help and support the ones you love. Life is not always fair. If you have never been in this situation then you have NO right to judge.

I am part owner of careerexcuse. I will continue to do what I do. Our services have helped many, that still to this day stay I in contact with.

I get to know my clients and would help in ANY way I can.

It looks like being unethical backfired on you then ? The moral of the story is to not partake in willful deception regardless if it benefits you by lying. What do u think ?

People should stop judging others about why they do what they do. People have families to feed, clothe and need a place to live.

Everyone knows that when you are out of work for 6 months or more, then employers play dirty. They will NOT hire you and if you've been out of work for longer then that, then you are screwed.

I have friends who have been looking for work for YEARS and it's the same old *** warmed over. So I say fight fire with fire, and eye for an eye, if they want to set the rules for who is hired or who gets overlooked because they have no current job?

Then I think it's high time to take whatever measures you need in order to become employed. These *** companies are the cause of all of this dishonesty, PEOPLE ARE DESPERATE!!

I know in my field, resumes are 'embellished' ALL the time, in some manner of another. It may not be in the form of contrived ('substitute') references.

Deception is almost ALWAYS used in areas of job 'description', 'services performed', 'skills utilized', 'goals attained', 'important projects accomplished', etc. It seems everyone's resume is glorified somehow. Professional courses in colleges even teach you how to do this sort of embellishment, to force-fit so-called 'key words' to try to give you an edge. And, as more and more people sugar-coat their resumes -- other people then almost have to do as well, in order to stay competitive.

Full honesty is not going to help you, if your resume gets tossed before you have the slightest chance.....

That being said, the key to all of this is to NOT go overboard.

If you have to fill in 6 months after your last job because you were preparing your house for sale, or needed to take care of an ill family member, then I see this as a more legitimate issue. However, filling it in with something 'consultant' or 'private contractor' or the like, would be better than making up an entirely contrived place of employment.

NO employer cares of the reason or excuse so say. ALL they see is a gap and a broken link in you. That's just bare truth

Guest

Lol Why *** about being taken for a ride when you're attempting to do the same to a prospective employer???

So dumb.

You all got what you paid for... Nothing.

Silly people, smh, SMH!

No wonder you're all jobless.

Guest

The reason for your issues is because the people who run this scam are drug addicted alcoholics! What did you actually expect from something that is lying to help people get jobs? I personally know these people and warn everyone to never use their services.
