I called ARS to replace a GE Oven Igniter and Technician wanted to charge 210.00 after Senior Citizen Discount. The rep that scheduled the appointment told I would be eligible for Senior discount and could use the $50.00 coupon. I wrote the BBB and service manager replied to BBB with an entirely different explanation. Therefore, I purchased my part from GE and call them to replace it. Paulo (rep)... Read more

Ars not a great company to work for. First of all, 16 hour work days, 5 days a week is slavery work. General manager does not care about employees unless they make a lot of (rip off) money for the company. Plumbing manager is disrespectful, speaks at a 5th grade education. With the way he speaks to his employees, its hit or miss. Its either he doesn't like you and your screwed or he likes you and... Read more

Vendor couldn't fix - said he needed a part. Couldn't get part, told me I would have to contact Angie's List since he wasn't honoring the $129 "deal". So I am out $129 as you guys take your friggin time to reimburse me, though we called the very day this happened to cancel membership and get refund. BTW We called Sears, they fixed in less than hour, NO PART required, $119 for entire service... Read more

In 2009, ARS installed a 2.5 ton A/C evaporator coil inside my house when there's a 3.0 ton condenser unit outside. A smaller indoor coil doesn't allow the freon to fully evaporate. Remaining un-evaporated freon returns to the compressor unit causing damage to the compressor motor valves. Air conditioning systems with R22 freon should last 15 to 20 years. You won't know there's a problem until... Read more

American Reidential Services in Denver area did a furnace service at my house Monday. They said the furnacce was overheating/cycling off because of a big crack in the heat exchanger and carbon monixide was at dangerous levels. My furnace was condemned. They gave me a bid of $3862 to replace it. Since I've been unemployed the last 3 years, I decided before signing the contract to look for... Read more

I had some plumbing work done and was not satisfied that it was done correctly for everytime I went into the bathroom there was a little pool of water underneath the supply stop where it goes into the toilet. I called into the Raleigh North Carolina office where I originally booked the appointment and they ultimately put me through to one of the managers named Larry Murais. He was completely rude... ARS-American Residential Services - charges an exorbitant 'parts' charge rather than time and materials. They replaced a capacitor and relay and charged my 87 yo mother $681 and then tried to sell her a new unit to boot. Stay away from these guys! Use a company that charges time and materials. With ARS, you'll get a novice repair man with incentives to put in parts you don't need. The more... Read more
